The OpenTravel Alliance, the travel industry’s leading standards body, is searching for an individual to lead the organization to replace its longtime CEO, Valyn Perini, who is leaving the organization as of January 31.

« I have very much enjoyed my years at OpenTravel, have worked with really wonderful people and considerably expanded my knowledge of the industry, » said Valyn. « I’m looking forward to whatever’s next, but my current goal is to ensure a successful transition for OpenTravel so it can continue to do the good work it has become known for. »

« Valyn was hired in 2005 as OpenTravel’s first full-time staff executive because we needed someone who had distribution experience, and who had a respected industry presence, » said Gianni Cataldo, chair of OpenTravel’s board of directors and VP of Americas for Datalex. « Valyn modernized the organization, managed us through the downturn of 2008-2009 and has been instrumental in launching our next-generation model-based schema initiative. We know she’ll be successful in whatever she decides to do next. »

The OpenTravel board of directors is looking for someone with travel industry experience to continue the work done by Valyn, OpenTravel’s staff and board of directors. The ideal candidate will be someone…
